From: Duncan Dimanche RE: Taking pro photos with your iPhone
Hi I’m Duncan Dimanche,
I have always wondered if you can take professional photos with an iPhone.
I myself had some doubt at first. I started photography about ten years ago and my first camera was a NIKON D100 that had half the pixels of the current iPhone.
So yes, you can definitely take pro photos with an iphone.
The iphone quality is truly phenomenal in all aspects, I wish I had an iPhone 12 to start photography back then.
Now I’m not going to lie, I am a professional photographer and I do use my professional camera for my work but there are plenty of moments where I don’t want to carry all my gear and just want to enjoy the moment.
The iPhone helps me capture daily memories and beautiful scenery wherever i am and whatever the time is and that is why I love using it so much everywhere i go.
I truly believe everyone can take amazing photos with it just by knowing a few tricks and essential photography rules
Can you believe one of these photos was taken with an iPhone?
The other was taken with a professional camera which cost more than $3000. Do you see how amazing the iPhone photo is and how it compares?
Ok, let me tell a story, in a beautiful spring day I went to the Lavender fields in south of France with a photographer friend, I took photos with both my camera and iPhone X.
For my own curiosity I decided for the first time to post the iPhone photo on my instagram.
This photo has been the most successful post I ever did! I got more likes and comments than any of my pro photos ever posted before, it was quiet shocking,
That’s when I truly realised the potential I had all this time right in my pocket. Later on I met a photographer friend that only takes iPhones photos since the Iphone 5.
He showed me some of them and I was blown away. He has been sharing them on pro photographer platforms and has been getting so much positive comments and likes.
Here is one he took with an iPhone 5 and edited on the lightroom app.
This photo is incredible right? I was shocked the first time I saw it.
That’s how incredible your iPhone photos can be.
The good news is, the iPhone does a big part of the job, and you only need to learn a few photography principles and some creativity to make mind blowing photos.
If that is something you are interested in, then you are at the right place.
SO WHY AM I TELLING YOU ALL THIS?
It's simple really, I realised that most questions I got about photography were actually very simple photo techniques people were missing.
That is true not only for photography. Whenever someone has trouble learning a subject it is very often from the fundamentals that have never been taught properly.
And I can’t stress enough on how quickly one can become better at photography by just applying basic and fundamental photography principles.
I have always loved teaching and photography is what I do best. That’s why I wanted to do a course that everyone can do without prior experience or first having to invest into an expensive camera.
I’ve been using an iPhone to take photos for the past years and I love the simplicity of it. I have it with me everywhere I go which makes it very convenient. That’s why some of my best photos were taken with an iPhone.
SO WHAT EXACTLY MAKES A GOOD PHOTO?
Photography is a simple yet powerful way of expressing yourself, and today everyone has the possibility of taking incredible photos at their finger tips.
So why are some photos better than others? Techniques is key but for me It boils down to 1 thing :
Does it create an emotional impact?
Every photo you were truly touched by created an emotion deep down. That is the power of photography.
Now Technique goes along with making those perfect shots, it is the foundation you need to have a perfect photos that create such Emotion.
Once you know how to drive a car you don’t need to think about it, well it’s kind of the same with photography, once you know exactly what to do in which situation, you will only focus on the subject you photograph without thinking of the technique anymore.
And that’s how you make great photos every time...
PHOTOGRAPHY MEANS DRAWING WITH LIGHT
The word "photography" was created from the Greek roots (photo) which means Light, and (graphé) which means Drawing.
So capturing light is definitely part of making a photo look great,
People will naturally have more attraction for photos which contain interesting light like a sunset, golden hour or even artificial light.
Now, you can also make terrible photo because of the light, if the sun is too strong or when a place is too dark it can make a photo unusable or just not great.
You see, there is plenty of opportunity to play with light and using it to bring that little magic to your photos.
It does take some skills but you will see, it is a lot of fun to learn and very interesting to practice.
Once you understand and master this technique you will instantly see the difference on your photos.
I know it all sounds quite complex,I have been there trust me, but it doesn’t have to be that way…
I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH TIME FIGURING OUT EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY
I took my first photography course when I was 16 in England.
At the time I thought I knew enough to take good photos, of course, I couldn't have been further from the truth. I learned a few things but it was far from being great.
Then I moved back to Paris and spent 2 years learning about photography from all kinds of magazines and DVDs, yes you heard me right, magazines and DVDs!
Hours and days wasted as I was desperately looking for photography lessons that were easy to understand and practical.
At the time I wanted to become a traveling photographer and took several trips to Europe, Asia and America. My photos were nice but I still wasn’t satisfied with them, there was something I felt like I was missing.
That’s when I decided to really learn everything there is to know about photography so I bought a bunch of online courses and spent hours on YouTube trying to figure out what makes great photos.
And I couldn’t understand why there wasn’t any simple online course to learn photography that was easy, helpful and affordable for everyone.
All I wanted was to take a subject and make it look great if not better than what I could see.
And isn’t that what we all want? To make photos you can be proud of?
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD YOU NEED TALENT TO TAKE INCREDIBLE PHOTOS?
One of the biggest lie I heard is that you need talent in order to do something or to succeed, Talent for me is simply having knowledge on a subject and enough certainty about it, that you can use it
Everyone can reach that, no need for special talent or skills in the first place, you will build your talent and your skills along the way.
As I started to gain that certainty, people started to tell me I was talented. I was quite surprised, I enjoyed the compliment of course but It didn’t feel right.
I realized it’s not about having talent or not, it’s simply about knowing what you are doing to the degree were you are comfortable with it and most importantly enjoying it.
All it takes is to understand what techniques pro uses and why.
And that’s the key right?
Well it is definitely something you need for what follows, just like the foundation of a house, the basic photography techniques and rules are your foundation in photography,
But those aren’t really the fun part, you simply need to know them, and use them when needed. The fun part is what comes next…
HOW DO I BECOME MORE CREATIVE WITH MY PHOTOS?
I know what you might think, it’s not always easy to be creative or find inspiration.
Luckily there is so much source of inspiration out there, I love going through instagram accounts and Pinterest to find inspiration.
Discover new locations to visit and try interesting angles.
A lot of the best photos I found use precise photography techniques and others are purely inventive.
I always try to do a little bit of both to find the look I like most,
I remember walking on a street and seeing an old fountain, it wasn’t anything special really.
I took out my iPhone and tried from a few angles before I found one that I liked. Looking at the photo and the real thing, it was clear as day the photo was way more interesting than the actual subject.
If I had done a normal photo of it, it would have been boring, but by taking it from an uncommon angle, it truly looked great. I had captured something there that wasn’t easy to see at first.
And sometimes that’s all it takes for a photo to be just perfect. Honestly it’s the most fun part of photography and why I love it so much.
Your creativity will shoot through the roof faster than you think and soon you’ll start seeing things differently, I’ll make it my personal mission.
DISCOVER TECHNIQUES THAT ALL GREAT PHOTOGRAPHERS USE
And the good news is, anyone can use these techniques with an iPhone.
It took some time to find out exactly what these techniques were, but once I found them my photos were never the same again.
Taking photos became a pleasure as I started applying these techniques in creative ways. I knew exactly what to look for and what to capture in any situation.
What shocked me the most was the results I would get.
I started making a living with photography and inspired others to do the same. I had more and more people asking me for tips, I started my own YouTube channel and I felt it was time for me to do a course for everyone to enjoy.
A simple yet complete course that everyone can follow.

DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID
I have spent thousands of dollars in magazines, DVDs, online tutorials, one on one coaching etc..
I did learn a lot of things of course, but 80% of it wasn’t actually necessary to make beautiful photos.
Like any subject you study there can be a lot of complexities that aren’t practical and that makes a subject a lot more complex than needs to be.
You won’t have any of those complexities and will learn all you need to know for an unbeatable price.
But you have to seize that opportunity now as this offer is only today.
Few weeks from now you could take photos like a pro, the choice is yours.
